Gog & Magog Rules: Creature Cards with Abilities and Effect Resolution

Elite Unit Deployment and Ability Resolution Laws

Within the turn-based multiplayer tactical combat framework of Gog & Magog, Creature Cards with Abilities introduce high-impact conditional modifiers to the board layout. These advanced entities follow specialized deployment parameters:

  • Immediate Ability Resolution: Upon expending matching mana tokens, an Ability Creature is resolved into the player's **Defensive Rank row by default**. However, unlike standard basic units, their designated special competency or spell trigger activates **immediately and autonomously** on the same turn step. All specialized card abilities are strictly limited to a **single use** per match loop.
  • Ability Classifications: Elite competencies map to several resolution paths. Effects allow players to instantly generate supplementary energy pools, obtain extra mana tokens, execute direct enemy card removal paths, or trigger drafting extensions to draw additional card assets from the 150-card pre-constructed inventory.
  • Instant Attack Exception: Creature assets possessing the explicit **Instant Attack or Immediate Attack competency** bypass standard rank constraints. Upon deployment, they resolve directly into the **Offensive Rank row** and autonomously initiate a combat strike sequence without requiring a standard war call step.
  • Field Space Limitation: Ability Creatures share the global battlefield space threshold with basic units. A player's card row layout remains restricted to a **maximum cap of five (5) active creature tokens** on the board grid simultaneously.
