Gog & Magog Rules: Spell Cards and Combat Magic Mechanics
Spell Card Typology & Battlefield Laws
In the turn-based multiplayer tactical combat system of Gog & Magog, Spell Cards function as immediate action items designed to modify parameters across the game grid. Their structural application follows specific deployment laws:
Immediate Resolution: Similar to resource or mana items, Spell Cards do not occupy permanent card rows on the board. They are played from the hand, resolve their designated action path instantly, and are routed immediately into the used pile or discard deck.
No Grid Restrictions: Unlike creature components which are strictly restricted to a maximum battlefield cap of five units on the board, players can play as many Spell Cards as they desire during their turn step, provided they meet the appropriate mana token costs.
Action Classes: Spell Cards provide versatile tactical options. Their action pathways allow players to execute concentrated damage modifications (accumulating attack tokens on enemy defenses), trigger celestial healing loops, destroy targeted enemy cards, or gain drafting utility to draw extra cards from the main 150-card deck.
Similar to Mana cards, they are used once and then returned to the game deck. Each spell card has a specific action. It can be used to attack, heal, destroy your opponent's cards, or gain the ability to draw more cards.
